"Take it one day at a time"

Updated: Jun 22, 2020

One of the most difficult parts about our current collective reality is the unknown of it all.

We are used to planning for the future and right now, we really can’t do that and it’s very easy to get overwhelmed by the uncertainty and to catastrophize, spiraling into future thoughts and anxieties.

When we find ourselves starting to spin out, we need to take a mindful pause and stay in the now, asking ourselves: what do you need to do in this day/hour/minute? A good way to ground ourselves is to check in with our senses - asking: in this moment, what can you smell, see, hear, feel?

Remember the things that are certain: the sun that will continue to rise and set, the people you love and the things that make you smile. Stay as close to the now as you can - take on each day at a time, hour by hour and even moment by moment.
