"Don't go without H2O!"

We are continually told to drink plenty of water. But do we really know all the benefits of staying well-hydrated?



Around 60% of our bodies are made up of water and they need regular hydration in order to: deliver oxygen throughout the body, regulate body temperature, maintain blood pressure, flush body waste, cushion the brain, spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, and lubricate our joints, among other functions.


Keeping our water intake regular is also very beneficial for our skin health and appearance - dehydration leads to more wrinkling!


LMT Chris always recommends upping our water intake after a massage as the body work releases toxins into the bloodstream and water acts to remove toxins from the body. This is also why increasing our H2O is a surefire way to boost our immune systems - staying hydrated can stave off infections!


Studies have further shown that even mild dehydration can lead to fatigue and have negative effects on attention and memory. If we feel thirsty, it means we are already dehydrated. So don’t let yourself get there, get into the habit of drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up and keep a water bottle with you at all times.


If the taste gets boring - make your own spa water with fresh fruits or herbs - our favorite flavor is cucumber and mint!
